Senior Database Analyst/Developer (CZ, US)

Overview:

AVG has an immediate need for a database professional to contribute to a significant project within AVG.

Experience and Expertise REQUIRED:

  • Experience with the installation, management and tuning of SQL Server 2005 (x64 preferred) in a Windows Server 2003 x64 environment. Specifically with tuning SQL Server in a multi-terabyte environment.
  • Experience with high transaction rate (up to 15k TPS) DB OLTP systems.
  • Experience with database replication (SSIS packages as well as other replication methods).
  • Experience with “data-marts” and data warehouses for OLAP and data mining.
  • Expertise in:
    • Data modeling
    • Stored procedures/triggers
    • Stored procedures/triggers Stored procedures/triggers
    • SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services
    • SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Development Studio

Experience and Expertise Preferred:

  • Experience with facilitating various OLAP application needs
  • Experience with global timezone and Unicode issues
  • Experience with similar applications as implemented in Oracle
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or information systems

Any experience with cyber security software is a plus.

Work environment and expectations:

The ideal candidate will reside in either the Czech Republic or the United States. If in the Czech Republic, a relocation to Brno is necessary. If in the United States, it is preferred that the candidate be on the east coast preferably in greater DC Metro, Philadelphia or Atlanta areas but can reside anywhere in the contiguous US. If in the US, the candidate will likely work from home and is therefore required to have a high speed Internet connection. AVG will supply a computer.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully working independently, but as a part of a fast and high performing team.
